Houston Swim Club has had another senior announce a verbal commitment. Ashley Harmon has announced her verbal intent to swim for Oklahoma Christian University. Five time Olympic medalist Josh Davis is officially starting the program in the fall.

Harmon shared,

“I am honored to announce my commitment to swim for Oklahoma Christian University. I know I will be able to reach my goals both academically and athletically at OC. Also, I am blessed to be a part of starting a new program under the leadership of Josh Davis, who I know will challenge me each day to reach my fullest potential.”

Her best times are:

  • 100 Fly 56.98
  • 200 Fly 2:04.31
  • 500 Free 4:59.49
  • 1000 Free 10:23.23
  • 1650 Free 17:07.52

Harmon is a fairly versatile swimmer. At NCSA Junior Nationals in the spring she competed in the 50 back, 50, 100, and 200 fly and the 500 free.

In her first year at Oklahoma Christian she’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the program. Her success will set the tone and Harmon is primed for some fast swimming. Her best 200 butterfly is the NCAA Division II B cut for this year’s meet. Harmon was only two tenths slower than last year’s invited time. Harmon is also well under the 2017 B cut in the 1650 and only a second from last year’s invited time. She is only six tenths shy of the B cut in the 100 butterfly as well.
